Substitutes deliver a hard-fought win for PSG over Lyon
Paris Saint-Germain beat Lyon 2-0 in the Ligue 1 round 8 clash to record their eighth straight win in all competitions. Substitutes Senny Mayulu and Mika Godts scored in the second half, sending the champions top of the table.

Paris Saint-Germain didn’t play their best game, but once again found a way to win. The clash with Lyon, postponed due to recent unrest in Paris, looked locked for a long time before Luis Enrique’s substitutions decided it.
The hosts had more of the game from the start. Désiré Doué, Fabián Ruiz and Ferran Torres all had good chances in the first half, but Lyon goalkeeper Dominik Greif was up to the task. Paulo Fonseca’s side also had their moments, with Matvey Safonov forced into a save from Julien Duranville.
The breakthrough came in the final quarter. In the 72nd minute, Mika Godts set up Senny Mayulu, who made space on the edge of the box and scored with a powerful low shot. In the 84th, Godts went from provider to scorer, collecting a long pass, beating his marker and firing into the far corner for 2-0.
PSG are now top with 17 points, while Lyon remain fifth with 14.
