Lavia after 4-1 loss to France: We must play as a unit for the full 90 minutes
Belgium midfielder Roméo Lavia didn't hide his disappointment after the 4-1 defeat to France in the Nations League. The Chelsea player sees positives in the team and points out that the Belgians still hold their fate in their own hands.
Monday's heavy 4-1 loss on French soil left a bitter taste in the Belgian camp. Speaking to UEFA's official website, Roméo Lavia admitted that the team was deeply disappointed despite the effort it put in, and that there is a lot to improve before the next international break.
The Chelsea midfielder highlighted the team's unity as something worth keeping, but stressed that it has to show throughout the whole match. "If we want to achieve our goals, we have to show it for the full 90 minutes," he said.
Lavia described Belgium's performance in the competition so far as mixed, since the team had hoped for more points from the first four matches. Even so, he sees plenty of positives in the period under the new head coach and noted that two matches remain, in which the team's fate is entirely in its own hands.
